The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali are a collection of 196 aphorisms that serve as a foundational text for classical yoga philosophy. Composed by Patanjali, the Sutras provide a systematic and comprehensive overview of the practice and theory of yoga, outlining the path towards spiritual liberation (moksha) through the control of the mind. The Yoga Sutras are divided into four chapters (or Padas), focusing on meditation, spiritual discipline, and the attainment of Samadhi, or enlightenment.
