Malasana

In Kundalini Yoga, Crow Pose or Malasana is practiced as a power stance that channels energy, builds willpower, and enhances stability. Unlike the traditional arm balance, which is referred to as Crow Pose or Bakasana in other yogic traditions, this variation features the arms extended straight forward with the palms facing down, parallel to the ground, creating a powerful energetic connection between the core, heart, and hands. The knees remain bent and the sit bones rest close to the heels and the ground in a low squat, feet grounded while the Navel Center (Manipura Chakra) is engaged, activating confidence, strength, and mental clarity. Depending on the specific kriya, variations in arm positioning or movement may be incorporated, and you may move into and out of Crow Pose to enhance energy flow and intention.

Kundalini Crow Pose awakens the Radiant Body, increases endurance, and sharpens focus, making it a key posture for developing inner and outer resilience. It strengthens and stretches the muscles of the lower back, groin, and legs and is also very grounding and embodying, because the full weight of the body presses down on the Earth through the feet and especially the heels. Crow Pose is said to circulate the energy of the first three chakras, stimulate the metabolism, and balance the large intestine.
