The Last Resort Meditation
June 15, 1982
When you are deeply challenged, out of resources, have nowhere to go, and no one to turn to, this meditation connects you with your soul and the divine power within. It can help you get out of despair and reach strength, clarity, and even relaxation.
The mantra stimulates the 32nd meridian of the upper palate, the Sattvica Buddha Bindh, enhancing intuition, positivity, and balance. It translates as: “You are the beloved of my Soul, Oh God.”
Practicing this meditation for six months can build awareness, while a year of daily practice can fully invite divine presence into your life.

Posture & Mudra:
Sit in Easy Pose (Sukhasana) with a straight spine. Rest your hands in your lap in Buddha Mudra, with the right hand on top.
Mantra & Breath:
Chant the Wahe Guru Jio mantra “WAHE GURU, WAHE GURU, WAHE GURU, WAHE JIO” in this manner:
- Inhale deeply, then release the breath slowly and steadily as you chant the mantra 8 times in a monotone.
- Each cycle takes approximately 45 seconds.
- Begin with the number of repetitions you can manage, and build your capacity over time.
Eyes/Drishti:
Closed.
Duration:
Start with 11 minutes. Gradually increase to 22 minutes, then 33 minutes over time.
