Meditation for the Second Chakra
Express Your Creativity
January 29 & 30, 1991
This meditation is believed to open and balance your Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana Chakra), promoting feelings of connectedness, healthy sexual expression, and being in creative flow. It is recommended to eat bananas after practicing this kriya; if available, lotus root and water chestnuts are also recommended as a diet when practicing.

Posture & Mudra:
Sit in Easy Pose (Sukhasana). Extend your arms comfortably to the sides, with the elbows bent, so your forearms are parallel to your thighs. Then angle your palms toward each other at 60 degrees above parallel. Imagine your thumbs and forefingers as the highest points of this tilted plane of your palms. Maintain this angle throughout the meditation.
Mantra:
Synchronize your movements with the rhythm of “EK ONG KAR, SAT GUR PRASAD“, but do not chant. Suggested recording: Ek Ong Kar by Nirinjan Kaur from the album Musical Affirmations.
Movement:
Bring your hands forcefully toward the center, then stop short without touching them together. As you do this, simultaneously contract your sex organ (base for men, including the clitoris for women). Release both as you return your hands to the starting position. Continue in rhythm with the recording.
Important:
Do not engage the anus or Navel Point in the contraction; this squeeze is not a Root Lock (Mula Bandha).
Eyes/Drishti:
Focus on the Tip of the Nose (Lotus Point).
Duration:
Begin with an 11-minute practice, gradually increasing to 31 minutes.
Ending:
- Inhale deeply. Suspend the breath and tense your entire body, holding for 15 seconds. Release.
- Repeat this sequence two more times.
