Meditation for the Divine to Speak Through Your Voice
August 8, 1979
Sacred texts foretell that when the Kundalini energy rises to the Throat Chakra (Vishudda Chakra) and the practitioner is absorbed in speaking the name of the divine, then their God can speak through their voice. They can then speak the truth and dwell in the truth forever. That is the ultimate purpose of this meditation.
This practice opens all the energy channels of the body and is very good for the nervous system. The posture and mudra put great pressure on the Navel Center (Manipura Chakra) to raise the Kundalini. If you form the hand position correctly and keep the elbows very straight, it will be easy.

Posture & Mudra:
Sit in Easy Pose (Sukhasana) and bring your arms straight forward from the shoulders parallel to the floor. Interlace the hands with the thumbs together and sticking straight up. Keep all knuckles of the palms pressed tightly together and the elbows very straight throughout.
Mantra & Breath:
Inhale deeply and chant the mantra SAT NAM, SAT NAM, SAT NAM, SAT NAM, SAT NAM, SAT NAM, WAHE GURU once on each breath. Each repetition takes about 6-8 seconds.
Eyes/Drishti:
1/10th open and focused at the Third Eye Point (Ajna Chakra).
Duration:
Continue for 11 minutes.
Ending:
- Inhale deeply, suspend your breath for 20 seconds and stretch your arms forward, straightening the elbows and pulling up the thumbs strongly; stretch your spine up as well. Exhale.
- Repeat this sequence one more time, stretching everything to your absolute maximum. Exhale, and relax.
