Meditation for Protection & Projection from the Heart
Inner Strength and Positive Energy
February 20, 1975
This meditation is designed to cultivate inner strength, positive energy, and a magnetic personality. It utilizes the Mangala Charn Mantra to generate protection and projection from the Heart Center, the origin of the electromagnetic field in the physical body.
The Aad Guray Nameh or Mangala Charn Mantra fills your energetic field with protective white light; it means:
- Aad Guray Nameh: I bow to the Primal Wisdom
- Jugaad Guray Nameh: I bow to the Wisdom through the Ages
- Sat Guray Nameh: I bow to the True Wisdom
- Siri Guru Dayvay Nameh: I bow to the great, unseen Wisdom.

Posture & Mudra:
Sit in Easy Pose (Sukhasana) and apply Neck Lock (Jalandhara Bandha). Bring your palms together at your heart center in Prayer Pose (Pranam Mudra). Cross your thumbs over each other.
Movement, Breath & Mantra:
- Inhale deeply in Prayer Pose (Pranam Mudra), then chant: “AAD GURAY NAMEH” as you extend the mudra outwards and upwards until your arms are at a 60 degree angle above parallel.
- Inhale as you bring the mudra back to your Heart Center. Then extend your arms out and up to 60 degrees as you chant: “JUGAAD GURAY NAMEH.”
- Inhale as you bring the mudra back to your Heart Center and repeat the arm movement, chanting: “SAT GURAY NAMEH.”
- Inhale as you bring the mudra back to your Heart Center and repeat the arm movement, chanting: “SIRI GURU DAYVAY NAMEH.”
The full extension of the arms is timed to the length of one line of the chant. One complete repetition of the Mangala Charn Mantra takes about 15 seconds.
Mindful Attention:
Focus on projecting your mind outwards with each chant.
Duration:
Begin with a practice of 11 minutes. As you become comfortable, you can gradually extend the duration by 5 minutes per day, up to a maximum of 31 minutes.
