Meditation for the Fourth Chakra 1
February 12, 1991
This meditation is believed to open and balance your Heart Center (Anahata Chakra), promoting feelings of openness, love, and compassion. The mantra HUMEE HUM BRAHM HUM, means “We are one. We are God.” When we truly understand that there is no separation and the divine lives in all hearts, we can embrace ourselves and others openly, with compassion and acceptance.

Posture & Mudra:
Sit in Rock Pose (Vajrasana) with a straight spine. Bring your forearms parallel to the ground, with the elbows bent, and your fingertips nearly touching in front of your Heart Center (Anahata Chakra). Keep your palms flat and facing down throughout.
Mantra:
Synchronize your movements with the rhythm of “HUMEE HUM, BRAHM HUM“, but do not chant. Suggested recording: Humee Hum by Nirinjan Kaur from the album Musical Affirmations.
Movement:
Extend your arms straight out to the sides, as you simultaneously draw your Navel Point in strongly and lift your solar plexus and diaphragm slightly. Release as you return your arms to the starting position. Continue this movement in rhythm with the music.
Eyes/Drishti:
Focus on the Tip of the Nose (Lotus Point).
Duration:
Continue for 11 minutes.
Ending:
- Inhale deeply and hold your breath for 15 seconds, then release.
- Repeat two more times.
- Relax.
