Isht Sodhana Chakra Meditation
August 4, 1975
This meditation employs chakra-to-chakra communication and concentration, to coordinate and enhance energy flow through the entire chakra system. The Isht Sodhana Mantra or Dharti Hai Mantra, also known as the Mantra of God Purification, represents the union of the gross (physical) and the etheric (unseen) within your being.

Posture & Mudra:
Sit in Easy Pose (Sukhasana) with a straight spine. Rest your left hand, palm facing up, in your lap. Bring your right hand, palm facing downward, approximately 3-4 inches above the Crown Chakra (Sahasrara Chakra) over the top of your head.
Mantra, Breath & Mindful Attention:
Inhale deeply and fully. On a single breath, chant Dharti Hai or the Isht Sodhana Mantra. As you chant, focus your awareness on your chakras in the following sequence:
- “DHARTI HAI” (Creation is/Earth is) – Concentrate on your left hand resting in your lap at the Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana Chakra).
- “AKASH HAI” (The Ethers are/The subtle is) – Focus on your right hand above your head at the Crown Chakra (Sahasrara Chakra).
- “GURU” – Direct your attention to your Third Eye Point (Ajna Chakra).
- “RAM” – Focus on your Throat Chakra (Vishuddha Chakra).
- “DAS HAI” (Guru Ram Das or love is) – Concentrate on your Heart Center (Anahata Chakra).
