Earthquake Meditation
When You’ve Lost Your Ground
This meditation steadies you after sudden shocks, whether from physical earthquakes or life’s unexpected upheavals. It resets the brain’s magnetic field, promoting intuition, neutrality, and balance.
By meditating on the Panj Shabd Mantra, the inner rhythm of the mind harmonizes, allowing you to act with grace and control. Within 15 minutes of consciously pulsing these sounds, the mind can come under your control, transforming any crisis into an opportunity to demonstrate character and grace to yourself and the world. This practice fosters a profound state of stillness and trustworthiness, making you more intuitive and balanced in your responses.

Posture & Mudra:
Sit with a straight spine in any meditative posture.
- Cup your left hand with the thumb resting along the side of the index finger and cover your left ear with this cup. Hold the left arm in front, upper arm parallel to the ground, and rhythmically press or strike the left side of the head with each syllable of the mantra.
- Bring your right hand into Conch Mudra. Curl the fingers into the palm to form a conch shell-like shape; the first two fingers a little less curled than the others and the thumb resting on the side of the index finger. Hold the fist near or touching the right ear, close enough to detect changes in sound, with the wrist bent slightly upward. This hand remains still in position.
Movement & Mantra:
Chant “SAA TAA NAA MAA” traditionally, and strike the side of the head around the left ear with the left hand as you chant each syllable. Draw each syllable in through the Crown Chakra (Sahasrara Chakra) and project it out through the Brow Point (Ajna Chakra) in the L form as in Kirtan Kriya.
Eyes/Drishti:
Focus the eyes on the Tip of the Nose (Lotus Point).
Duration:
Practice for 11 to 31 minutes.
