Awaken the Dormant Power Within

July 24, 1996

This practice ignites the dormant power within you, activating the flow of energy in the magnetic field and awakening the essence of your true potential. It also enhances resilience, allowing you to face challenges with grace and radiance. The breath should become hot and powerful, resonating upward like Breath of Fire.

Posture & Mudra:

Sit in Easy Pose (Sukhasana) with a straight spine. Bend the elbows and bring them out to the sides parallel to the floor with the fingers pointing towards each other in front of the chest. Bend the ring and pinky fingers into the palm and hold them down with the thumb. Spread the index and middle fingers wide to form a V shape, maintaining this mudra on both hands throughout the practice.

Mantra:

Listen and move to a recording of the Guru Gaitri Mantra “GOBINDAY MUKANDAY”.

Suggested recording: Gobinde Mukande by Matamandir Singh and Friends from the album The Yoga of Sound: Overcoming Fear.

Movement & Breath:

Bring the elbows down with force, striking the sides of the ribcage at the 7th rib. This movement vibrates the shoulders and upper body rhythmically. Move to the beat of the music, allowing the head and shoulders to follow naturally in a dancing motion. Maintain a steady pace, approximately one hit per second. As the movement continues, the breath will naturally turn into Breath of Fire.

Duration:

Continue for 23 ½ minutes.

Ending:

  1. Inhale deeply and stretch your arms straight up, stretching the entire body and the spine.
  2. Hold your breath for 15 seconds.
  3. Exhale and relax.
